Poem- A Lonely Lady

Poem-A lonely Lady
Her husband had passed so suddenly
She didn’t have time to say she still loved him or goodbye
At night she cried herself to sleep
No one to cuddle with or kiss goodnight
Left her feeling so lonely
Her deep sighs made her think
About her missing love
She noticed a little bird right outside her window
Tapping on the glass singing his cheery song and cheeping
As though to say I’m here to tell how much I love you.
You don’t have to be lonely I’m here to cheer you
In an instant she felt her heart whole again
The little bird stayed close by for the next week
Making sure she stayed happier

Hi Writer20, Very well written and heartfelt. I have thought about how my better half would react if I was gone without warning. We do let each other know every chance we get how much we mean to each other just in case. Thanks for making other people think about how something can change your life in the blink of an eye. Greg
Hmmmmm.....
Up and beautiful Writer20. Wow, this was deep. I put myself in those shoes and think what it would feel like for me. I touches so many levels. As a lyricist, I do this a lot to write songs. Same as poetry as you probably already know. But when you can connect on that level, it stands out like this. Great work.
There is always some part of us that wants something more .. Some part of us that feels alone and left out sometimes. And sometimes, the world feels too big for me.. When am all by myself. I guess that's loneliness
Lots of feelings. I'm sorry for your lost. Very well written.
Kay
Ohhhh how lovely this is. I feel a tear forming. What a dear little bird, obviously, your love coming to remind you that he is close by. I am so very sorry for your loss. Your gift for writing such a beautiful poem is made even stronger through the release of your emotions. This deserves a tender vote UP.
Yet again, truly amazing!
Thank you for sharing the words and sentiments with us :)
Hi Joyce
Very beautiful and comforting. The little bird was a messenger from God sent to let the lonely lady know that her husband would never truly leave her and always be watching over her.
Voted up and away!
I wish you a good day my friend.
Take Care
Been there, done that.
Have a great day! Write on.
Bless that little bird..Sweet story..Thank you..
I love how this sweet bird represents many things; not the least of which is the fragility of nature and of love, and how we are all connected in some way. Such a lovely poem!
Hello Joyce, this is so very lovely - I could relate to your words.
Beautiful and voted up.
Just lovely Writer, I relate to this one so much. I think grief can make one so much more aware of our connection with nature and the signs that present themselves, and as Genna said "we are all connected in some way". That little bird was a little ray of hope at a time of great despair. Beautiful and useful votes from me.
Hey writer20 I love this type of poetry.. is the bird perhaps holding her husband's spirit? I dunno.. just thought I'd take a guess ..)
Lovely, sentimental poem. Thanks for the wonderful share. Voted up! : )
